Joplin High School JROTC History
The Joplin High School Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (JROTC) is the oldest continuously active JROTC program in the United States. Established in 1919, the program has served the High School's mission for over 90 years. The current mission of "Motivating Young People To Be Better Citizens" continues today with an enrollment of 262 cadets in the school year 2009-2010.
"HAWG WILD" Drill Meet Results
The Joplin Eagle JROTC Drill Team competed in the Hawg Wild Drill Meet at the University of Arkansas on 6 March. This was the first time attending this meet in 10 years. The cadets had fun and did excellent, winning first place overall. The specific results are below:

2nd Place: Armed Exhibition (Cadet Cdr Clyde)
2nd Place: Armed Regulation Drill (Cadet Cdr Smith)

JOPLIN 25th ANNUAL DRILL MEET 20 FEB
-Joplin placed second overall in the competition. Our Institutional Drill with Weapons received first place. Overall an excellent performance with two students placing 1st and 4th in individual events.
